The problem

Events get planned across WhatsApp groups, Google Forms, event pages and email threads. Hosts struggle to track RSVPs, share updates and handle last-minute changes. Guests get confused about times, locations and whether they even confirmed.

Research

10 interviews with people who had hosted events in the last year, 38 survey responses, and a competitive analysis of Eventbrite, Evite, Paperless Post and Facebook Events. Three problems kept coming up:

  • RSVP tracking becomes chaotic: hosts chase guests one by one.
  • Event details get lost: guests keep asking what time, what to bring, where exactly.
  • Communication is fragmented: last-minute changes reach only some guests.

Constraints & priorities

A small team, limited development resources and a 10-week MVP timeline. That meant shipping the core event flows first and leaving seating charts and ticketing for later.

The solution

Digital invitations

Hosts create and send visually engaging invitations in minutes.

Real-time RSVP tracking

Confirmed, declined and pending guests at a glance. No more chasing.

One event page

Location, schedule, dress code and host notes, always in one place.

Guest updates

Hosts send updates or reminders to every guest instantly.

Validation & learnings

Usability testing with 7 users confirmed that quick RSVPs worked, that hosts wanted clearer guest-list summaries, and that reminders improved attendance. Iterations simplified the RSVP interface, added guest response analytics and improved invitation previews.

The biggest lesson: communication is the core problem, not invitations.
